On transition

The transition from child to the adult has been a troublesome matter for young people with chronic diseases as well as their doctors and medical teams.
At the annually physician´s congress (Medicinska Riksstämman)in Stockholm there will be a symposium "The grown-up child" on Friday, November 27, 10.30-12. The language is Swedish.

Next meeting in Denmark for the NAMN group

The two representatives from each nordic country, constituting the NAMN group (Nordic Adolescent Medicine Network), will meet August 20-21 at Fairyhill in the neighbourhood of Helsingør in Denmark.
We will discuss and complete the report “Are health services in the Nordic countries youth-friendly enough”.
Will NAMN be a part of the planning for the next EAAH meeting (European Association for Adolescent Health)in Reykjavik 2010?
In what ways do we assist each other developing adolescent medicine in our countries?

EUSUHM Congress in Leyden

On September 23-25 "The 15th Congress of the European Union for School and University Health and Medicine" will take place in the old university town of Leyden in the Netherlands. The theme is: "Youth Health Care in Europe.Guaranteeing equal access to care for all young people". All about the programme and registration at their website www.eusuhm.org
EUSUHM is the European Union for School and University Health and Medicine.
Probably a session will be a joint meeting for EAAH and EUSUHM. We will hear more about that from Onno Sijperda, who is involved in the planning of the meeting as well as member of the EAAH-board (European Association for Adolescent Health)

Euteach Summer School 2009

EAAH-meeting in Slovenia

The European Association for Adolescent Health (EAAH) annually meeting was held in Portoroz, Slovenia, in September. An interesting, very well arranged and friendly conference with about 60 persons from 17 European countries. The aim of these conferences is to meet, to discuss and learn from other´s projects, ideas and countries round adolescent health.

Summer School 2008 in Lausanne

European Training in Effective Adolescent Care and Health (EuTEACH) this year had seven participants from the nordic countries during one week at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. This course is aimed at health personnel and descision makers with possibilities to influence the development of good care and health for young people.

EuTEACH Summer School 2008

Twelve nordic colleagues has joined this one week summer school. Among them Katri Makkonen, Margrethe Krabbe and TommyMelin in the NAM-network.

It´s exciting, you learn a lot and it´s fairly cheap. You should be "reasonably fluent" in English. You´ll find all the information at the EuTEACH website.
